EDUCATION
MGI funds the Choa Co Shiu Hoo Memorial Scholarship Foundation and provides education opportunities to deserving students enrolled in St. Edward School. Of late, CCSHMSF has assisted academically-gifted students and those who excel in extra-curricular activities.
HOUSING
Aligned with its subsidiary’s mission of creating communities and transforming lives, far greater than complying with the government’s socialized housing requirements, the Group works closely with Gawad Kalinga Foundation to provide housing for less-privileged families. Through this collaborative work, recipients are afforded access to livelihood, education, and value formation in a community setting.
ENVIRONMENT
MGI communities are home to close to 50,000 trees composed of more than 40 species. Employees, homeowners, and business partners all take part in community-led tree-planting activities on a regular basis during the rainy season while rainwater is collected in catchment facilities to care for the greenery. Waste segregation, recycling, and composting are main features of communities, with close coordination among corresponding LGUs to maximize use for these.
COMMUNITY CULTURE BUILDING
Through the Galing movement in Profriends’ current projects, Lancaster New City and Micara Estates Tanza, volunteers are mobilized to self-organize activities for the benefit of the community and promote the development of shared values to last for generations.
